Pilgrimage: “To Jesus through Mary” - July 1,
2006
On July 1st, feast of the Precious Blood
and Canada Day, Langley held its second annual pilgrimage.
This year it started near Our Lady of Lourdes grotto, in Mission
and ended at Christ the King church in Langley with a solemn
high Mass and picnic on the rectory’s grounds. The pilgrimage
began with 38 walkers and the vast majority made it to the
very end. Fathers Boulet and DeVriendt as well as Rev. Mr.
Lilis joined in the walk.
The pilgrimage starts out
at the Mission bridge.
The pilgrimage started through
a shady trail through the fields and woods.
There was lots of opportunity
for confessions.
Both Canadians and Americans
participated.
The rosary and hymns were sung at intervals.
The route leaves the shade
and continues along the picturesque countryside.
Lunch break at the side of
a parking lot.
