FATIMA 1960
2000
Finally, our fellowmen
are starting to get over all the crazy feelings in connection with the
passing to the year 2000! An interesting cartoon appeared in a local newspaper
a few days ago. It showed a line-up of people in front of the customer
service desk of a retail store. All these people were bringing back their
Y2K emergency kits they had nervously bought a couple of weeks earlier.
Everyone was silent, and the confused customers did not dare to look at
the clerks' dirty faces. It seems that quite a few people became millionaires
by waving the ghost of the Y2K bug in front of the suckers, and it worked
out pretty well!
Even modern Churchmen
have not been strangers to this big excitement over the year 2000. Since
the apostolic letter Tertio Millenio Adveniente of John
Paul II, published in 1994, everything has been geared towards the New
Millennium, that was to bring a time for a "New Pentecost" or
a "New Advent" of the Church.
That idea was not
really new. Actually, it has been used and abused over the last forty
years, since the Vatican II Council.
At first, it came
like a bombshell, about forty years ago. It was on January 25, 1959, on
the occasion of a meeting of Cardinals held at St. Paul's basilica in
Rome, when John XXIII announced that he was going to have an Ecumenical
Council (*) with all the Bishops of the world.
This Council, to
be known as Vatican II Council, was launched in order to bring some fresh
air into the Catholic Church, according to the expression of the Holy
Father, as an "aggiormanento" (an updating) of the Church with
the world.
In that memorable
and prophetic talk, Pope Roncalli exposed his personal ideas of a "little
council", that was going to be done quickly, to "tune-up the
Church", to bring it in line with the ideas of the modern world.
Meanwhile, according
to the wishes of the Mother of God, the following year, 1960, was to be
a real prophetic one, as the year of the deadline for the revelation of
the third and last part of the famous Secret of Our Lady of Fatima.
The revelation of
the third secret should have been the prophetic event which would have
saved humanity from the evils of communism, while Pope John XXI I I's
prophecy in fact, opened the fortress of the Catholic Church to the spirit
of Modernism.
Forty years later,
we taste the bitter fruit brought to us by the so-called prophecy of John
XXIII, that jeopardized the true one, the one coming from Our Lady: the
non-revelation of the Third Secret of Fatima, and the reforms that followed
the Council Vatican II.
Such developments
were the proof that the "smoke of Satan" had penetrated deep
within the bosom of our Holy Mother the Church. Because it bothered their
consciences, Churchmen have been trying to bury the message of Our Lady.
Clear orders were given to make the people think that the Third Secret
of Fatima is not worth revealing, and that the 1984 Consecration made
by John Paul II in Fatima was done properly according to the wishes of
the Mother of God.
In the first edition
of the book Report on the Apparitions of Fatima, from Father Marchi,
dated 1966, it is stated that the commonly perceived opinion is that "Sister
Lucy always said that the Third Secret had to be revealed after her death
or, at the very latest, in 1960".
In the 1994 edition
of the very same book, it is quoted that "Sister Lucy always said
that the Third secret had to be revealed after her death or, at the earliest,
in 1960.
To make it more official,
they even kept the 1966 Imprimatur from the bishop of Leira, as a so-called
guarantee of the 1994 edition.
Even the book of
the "Memoirs" of Sister Lucy did not escape these backyard up-daters.
In the pre-1990 editions, the #11 foot-note of the Third Memoir
of Sister Lucy was as follows: "Have the conditions for the consecration
of Russia and, consequently, for her conversion, according to the requests
of Our Lady been fulfilled? Sister Lucy always denied it. That is why,
we continue to suffer from the evils of atheistic Communism, which is
used by God to chastise the world for its sins. "
In the 1990 edition
of the very same book, the #11 footnote was changed as follows: "Sister
Lucy attests that the consecration done on March 25, 1984 by John Paul
II in union with the bishops was done according to the requests of Our
Lady, and had already been rewarded by God." What happened in the
meantime?
A well-organized
campaign was launched from the Vatican, to make people believe that the
1984 consecration was done properly according to the will of Our Lady,
and that the 1989 fall of the Berlin wall was the proof that heaven had
rewarded it.
The article that
follows (Why not obey the Mother of God as one should?) will
give the reader a different view of the sad reality of Fatima in 2000,
but will finish by shedding some light in the darkness: a report on the
up-coming beatification of Francisco and Jacinta Marto, the two seers
of Fatima, to be done by the Pope in Fatima, on May 13, 2000.
Let us thank Father
Delestre and our fellow priests from the Society of St. Pius X from Portugal
for allowing us to publish their enlightening study.
The Communicantes
(*) The expression Ecumenical Council
does not mean that it is a council to introduce Ecumenism, but it is a
mere technical wording, to express the idea of a general meeting of all
the bishops of the Catholic Church, under the presidency of the Pope.
There have been 21 Ecumenical Councils
in the history of the Catholic Church, from the Council of Jerusalem in
70, until Vatican II.
