The Hall of Fame
All Saints Day

Dear Crusaders,

Our country has its heroes. There are many men who contributed to the greatness of our land. They are great political leaders, learned men, great soldiers, and great athletes. Because of what these people did, their names are kept in special honour, in a place called the “Hall of Fame”.

Today, I am inviting you to pay a visit to another “Hall of Fame”, not made by men, but by the hand of the King of kings, the Lord of lords. It is located up high, and has room for many more than in our earthly Hall of Fame. The apostle St. John said, “I saw a great multitude which no man could number, of all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne, and in the sight of the lamb, clothed with white robes, and palm in their hands.” So, St. John saw that the souls in the heavenly “Hall of Fame” are very holy and are shining with the light of glory!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be one of them, and have our name inscribed in God’s “Hall of Fame” in heaven?

If you imagine looking around that holy place, can you find at least a small corner seat for yourself there? Perhaps you wouldn’t ever think you’d make the earthly Hall of Fame, but there are many places available in God’s Hall of Fame, and one of them is prepared especially for you from all time.

You don’t need to be a champion, but to live a holy life, and keep and cultivate the grace of God in your hearts. An example of this holy life was St. Therese of the Child Jesus, a saint who taught us the Little Way. The Little Way is to offer up these daily “little things” for the love of God.

Dear children, look at the saints in heaven. They were human like you and I. Like us, they were born with Original Sin. Like us, they fought against the bad tendencies that are in us all. They fought, and God granted them the victory as a reward for their fight. In heaven, the Hall of Fame of God, there is a book called the Book of Life, which contains the name of the winners of the battle, those who reached eternal happiness of heaven. May all crusaders get their name written in that book!

  • On November 3rd, I’ll say the monthly Mass for the intentions of the Eucharistic Crusade. That Mass will be also offered in thanksgiving for the tenth anniversary of our little bulletin “The Guardian of Crusaders”, which started to be published in November 1992.
