David and Goliath
At the beginning of this New Year, I would like to extend to all the members of the Eucharistic Crusade and their families, my best wishes for a happy and holy year. More than ever, we need the help of the children’s prayers to counter the attacks of the devil, coming from everywhere. "From outside, the devil is trying to completely destroy the remains of Christianity which are still in our Western world. From inside, the devil is trying even harder to divide us, according to his motto “to divide and conquer”. How can we stand in front of such terrible attacks? As St. Paul says, we need to be on watch: “having on the breastplate of faith and charity, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” (I Thessalonians V, 8) If not, we will be lost for sure. This month of January, a very bad law against marriage will be discussed in the Federal Parliament in Ottawa. Can we stop it? We are like David against Goliath. Goliath was mighty, David was weak, but he had God on his side: “Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, which thou hast defied.” (I Kings XVIII, 45). That is why David was able to win. Likewise, there is another battle of David against Goliath coming up in this country in the marriage laws. For the success of that battle, I am asking to all the Davids of the Eucharistic Crusade (and all the other kids) to fight against Goliath in the name of the Lord. Like David did, cast the stone (of your morning offering) this month, so that civil authorities respect the Commandments of God. If you do so, for sure Goliath will be defeated. Father
