Heaven

Dear Crusaders,

Today, I am giving you great news! If you stay good during the years of your pilgrimage on earth, you will receive such a reward greater than you can even think about. Not only this reward will be huge, but it will be eternal. Heaven is our true home land, and we should often think of. Let us repeat with St. Augustine: O most dear home land, we are longing for you from afar off. You are the promised land prepared by the eternal Father from the beginning of the world. The city of God doesn’t need the sun, nor the moon , nor the stars to get light: rather, the brightness of divinity shines forth!

One day, a friend of St. Augustine asked him to write a treatise on the happiness of heaven. As the saint was thinking about asking St. Jerome for advice, a very bright light appeared to him. Augustine heard a voice that said: “Augustine, what are you doing here? Do you think that you can fill up a small vase with all the waters of the ocean? Or that you can put the whole Earth in your hands? You pretend that you can see what was never seen by any human eye, and to understand what was never understood by any human mind?” This was the voice of St. Jerome, who had just died in Bethlehem. He was telling St. Augustine about the happiness he was now enjoying in heaven.

Can you imagine a happiness greater than the one of the souls who enjoy the company of God, of the angels and of all the Saints in heaven!

Let us remember, dear children, the reason why Jesus comes to us in the Blessed Sacrament: He lays in our hearts the seed of eternal life. When you receive Him in Holy Communion, think about the eternal happiness of the Souls who will stay forever in His company. One day, you will be one of them if you stay faithful to make good communions!
