Formerly established in the hamlet of Ste. Marthe, by the Manitoba border, that mission was one of the earliests ones established by Father Yves Normandin. For years, Mass was celebrated in a private farmhouse. Our Lady of Fatima Chapel was established in the village of Welwyn in the fall of 1994. Building renovations were done actively from 1995 until 1997. The Chapel was blessed by Bishop Tissier de Mallerais on July 7, 1997. In September 2005, St. Michael's Traditional Catholic School began to operate in the basement of the chapel, run by members of the congregation. It counts about 25 students, in several grades. A vibrant parish life includes all night adoration every first Saturday to draw down graces the Mass Centre and school. The congregation numbers about 90 souls.
