Coast to Coast
Christ Within Us
By Rev. Fr. Patrick Girouard SSPX

A ) Saskatchewan:

Life in the Welwyn parish has been quite busy these last months. On May 22nd, Victoria Day, Mrs. Bernard Janzen organized a “Victorian Tea Party” with the ladies of the Parish. It was a real success, and they all look forward for another one.

On June 3rd, Fr. Rusak celebrated the wedding of Miss Désirée Mailloux with Mr. Patrick Lillis, from St. Mary’s, Kansas.

At the end of June we were all sad to see the Napolitano family (eight kids) moving back to St. Catherines, Ontario, for professional reasons. But two weeks later, we had the joy to welcome the Halliday family, coming from New Hampshire, but of Canadian nationality. They have nine kids. On September 2-4, a pilgrimage from Kaspovar to Welwyn took place, with about 70 people. On September 9th, we had the wedding of Jennifer Green with Mr. Adam Morbetto, from Kansas City, Missouri . It was blessed by Fr. Rusak. Both our newlywed girls left Welwyn to go live with their husbands in the USA, but they remain close to our hearts. St. Michael’s Academy has started its second year of operation, and after a period of adjustments of a few weeks, it seems that things will run more smoothly for the rest of the year. The devil does not like Catholic schools, and we have to remember he will never cease to use his bag of tricks to close them down. So we must always watch and pray…

B) Manitoba:

Fr. Gerard Rusak, Pastor of St. Raphael’s Priory, has launched last spring a big construction and renovation program: Church windows and their protective grates repainted, air conditioning for the Priory, wooden fence between Priory and church, new sidewalks and front porch, security lights and cameras, outdoor statues bought or repaired, roof repaired, new rooms in the Priory, new rugs in the church, a cement tiles patio, the garden enlargement, and what not? He was helped by many parishioners, some coming from as far as Dryden, Ontario! We want to thank MM. Beauregard, Bobay (Mike and his son Lucas), Daquigan, Pareis, Persian, Procca, Stefaniuk, Zielke, and especially Stan Zigarliski, for their good work. Thanks to Miss Cornelia Newschwander, who did a tremendous job with our plants… Thanks also to Seminarian Jonathan Prescott and future Brother Craig MacFarlane.
