Part II: The Ardent Life of the Crusade:

THE FIRST LAW : The Crusader prays always and for all
You are going to pray always. How?

In the morning, as soon as you wake, kneel down and make your offering (see page 9). During the day, make your offering last by offering to God your meals, your work, your games, your classes, your silence, your sacrifices, even your faults.

Help yourself, for example, by using the striking of the clock (when you can hear it) as a reminder to renew your offering: "All for you, Dear Jesus."

At night, on your knees, after checking your accounts with God and marking your treasury, offer Him your night and your sleep (see below).

You are going to pray for everyone. How can you do that?

Do as Our Lord is doing as He "immolates Himself continually on the altar" for the redemption of all souls.

Form the habit of praying often

a) For the Church Suffering (the souls in Purgatory);
b) For the Church Militant (those who are baptized);
c) For those outside the Church (the Jews, heretics, schismatics, and pagans).

(The Crusader ends his day as he began it: on his knees at the foot of his bed. He marks his Treasury, says an Our Father and ten Hail Marys in honour of the Blessed Virgin for the Apostleship of Prayer. If he has not already done so, he recites the acts of faith, hope, charity and contrition, and finishes the prayers with the night offering.)

Divine Heart of Jesus, I offer Thee, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my prayers, Communion and sacrifices of this day. All the good I have done I owe to Thee. I Thank Thee, Jesus, I thank Thee. I offer Thee also my negligences my weaknesses and my sins... I am sorry for them because Thou art infinitely good. Forgive me, Jesus, forgive me. I offer Thee finally my sleep and my night, for all the intentions for which Thee sacrifice thyself continually on the altar. Amen.

(And he goes to sleep thinking of tomorrow's Communion.)
