The Eucharistic Crusade
1917-1987-2007

Dear crusaders,

Sunday May 13th, is going to be a very special day for all true Catholics and for the members of the Eucharistic Crusade.

What is the first event that we will remember on that day? It will be the first apparition of Our Lady to the three children of Fatima that happened in 1917, 90 years ago. The message of Our Lady of Fatima is of great importance for our times: not only because Our Lady asked for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, but also because she gave a famous secret (the third secret) to warn us about a number of sad things happening in the Church.

Can a member of the Eucharistic Crusade do anything to answer to the requests of Our Lady at Fatima? Yes, indeed! If he is faithful to make his daily offering, everything whatsoever he will be doing during that day will be offered to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Not only the daily offering, but all the other prayers of the Crusaders should be offered to Jesus through Mary. I am pretty sure that the daily prayers of the members of the Eucharistic Crusade have a great power to help to prepare the happy day of the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Our Crusade will have two other anniversaries to celebrate this month: it was in 1917 that the Eucharistic Crusade was started by a French priest, Fr. Bessières. 60 years later, in 1987, the Eucharistic Crusade was revived by a group of seminarians from Ecône. At that time, Father Schmidberger, then superior general of the Society of St. Pius X wanted to do something special to mark the revival of the Eucharistic Crusade: along with Father Puga, the general chaplain of the Eucharistic Crusade, he consecrated the Eucharistic Crusade to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Such consecration was made… on May 13, 1987.

All the members of the Eucharistic Crusade will remember these anniversaries on Sunday, May 13, by doing the renewal of the consecration of the Eucharistic Crusade to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (see back cover).

On that day, I will join you with a special Mass for all the intentions of the Eucharistic Crusade.
