MIRACLES OF THE ROSARY

In 1482, Venerable Fr. James Sprenger and other religious of his Order were working hard to spread devotion to the Holy Rosary, and to set up a Confraternity in the city of Cologne, Germany. A Confraternity is a group of people who work and pray together for the same reasons. So the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary would be a group of people who would pray the Rosary and spread devotion to the Holy Rosary, so that others could learn about the lives of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. And by belonging to the Confraternity, these people could get more graces to go to Heaven.

But there were two priests who were jealous of Fr. James. They decided to speak against the Rosary whenever they had a chance, and caused many people not to join the Confraternity of the Rosary!
One of them wrote a bad sermon against the Rosary and planned to preach it on the following Sunday. But when it came time for the sermon, he never appeared, and when somebody went to look for him, he was found dead! He had died all alone, without seeing a priest!

The other priest told himself that his friend had just died a natural death, and decided to give a sermon against the Rosary on another day. In this way he hoped to put an end to the Confraternity of the Rosary. However, when the day came for him to preach and it was time to give the sermon, God punished the poor priest by causing him to be paralyzed. The priest was no longer able to walk, nor was he able to talk!

At last the priest admitted his sin, and that of the other priest who died suddenly, and immediately in his heart he begged Our Lady to help him. He promised Our Lady that if she cured him that he would preach in favour of the Holy Rosary with great effort. He now wanted to please the Virgin Mary and to help hundreds of people join the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary. So he begged her again to restore his health and speech.

Suddenly, the priest was instantly cured! He rose up and defended the Holy Rosary. He publicly told people that he had been wrong to preach against the Holy Rosary, as he had done before. Now he was working beside Jesus and Mary. Now he was working with them to save souls in the way that they wanted him to save souls. Now he was preaching about the Holy Rosary and about the holy lives of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. And now he was helping many people to join the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary.

Say your Rosary well, every day, and you will see that Jesus, Mary and Joseph will help you to be good, and guide you on the path to Heaven. And one day if you are able to, join a Traditional Confraternity of the Rosary.
